A 7-day foodie dream in Areni and Vayots Dzor! Sip bold wines at family-run vineyards, learn to bake lavash in a tonir oven, and master tolma with locals who share their stories over hearty meals. This tour’s for those who love food, wine, and the tales that make every bite unforgettable. Expect to leave with a full belly and a happy heart.
Vayots Dzor is Armenia’s wine country, with rolling hills and vineyards that trace back 6,000 years. Areni, the heart of it all, is famous for its red wines made from the Areni grape, with flavors of cherry and spice. The region’s warm days and cool nights create perfect grape-growing conditions, and you’ll find ancient caves and monasteries tucked among the vines.
Boutique guesthouse stays with local charm, all meals (think farm-fresh feasts), wine tastings at three vineyards, hands-on cooking classes, private transport, English-speaking guide, entry fees to sites like Areni-1 Cave.
Tasting sessions at three private vineyards, sipping Areni reds and rare whites.
Hands-on lavash and tolma cooking with a local family in their home.
Visit to Areni-1 Cave, the world’s oldest known winery (6,100 years old!).
Farm-to-table dinner under the stars, with grilled meats and homemade cheeses.
Exploring Noravank Monastery, a gem nestled in a red-rock canyon.
No intense hiking, but vineyard walks mean comfy shoes are a must. Let us know about dietary needs — vegan, gluten-free, or allergies, we’ll sort it. Evenings can get chilly, so pack a light jacket or shawl. Wine tastings include 3–4 glasses per session; sip slowly to savor! Limited Wi-Fi in rural areas. Bring a small bag for buying local wines or preserves to take home.
